The numerical strength of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo state ballooned today as some prominent chieftains and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) abandoned their abhorrent brooms to take shelter under the congenial umbrella.
Speaking on behalf of the decampees, a foremost APC leader from Agenebode in Etsako east LGA , Alhaji Amama, admonished party members of the PDP to be steadfast and work assiduously in ensuring all candidates of the party are delivered come 2019.
Receiving the defectors, Edo PDP chairman, Chief Dan Osi Orbih said the message of the PDP is very simple, spreading the gospel of truth, good governance.
Orbih said: “Our people can no longer go to their farms because of the menace of the Fulani herdsmen who take so much pleasure killing innocent Nigerians”.
Orbih noted that once political activities fully commence on the 18th of November, a robust issue driven campaign will be initiated across the 18 LGAs and 192 wards in the state, he therefore charged the people to come out enmass and continue to propagate the good news of the party.
Those present at the ceremony include, Alhaja Hadiza Umoru, PDP Deputy National Woman Leader, Hon. Larry Ogieva, PDP National Ex-officio, Chief Frank Erewele, Hon. Abubakar Momoh, Edo North PDP Senatorial Candidate, Chief Blessing Agbomhere, Etsako Federal Constituency PDP Candidate, Hon.
